About Newcastle upon Tyne
Newcastle is a metropolitan and historic city located in the North East of England, on the north bank of river Tyne. The city is surrounded by beautiful scenery and has something to offer to everyone. The coast is only 8.5 miles from the city centre and if you go north you will find amazing countryside of Northumberland. Newcastle has two major universities, with many international students.
Newcastle is also famous for its bridges, the Premier League football team Newcastle United FC and the Great North Run, the world’s most popular half-marathon.
People in the Newcastle area are called Geordies and they are known for their kindness and their dialect, called Geordie as well.
Newcastle was rated one of the best cities for its nightlife in the world. There are plenty of pubs,bars and restaurants where you can have a drink, chat or dance.
